Study on Facial Planes

  Study on Facial Planes

Another life study piece. It is really a random drawing...but the eyebrows are really a disaster...

Still Life Study

Still Life Study

I always look forward to art classes and still life study is one of my favourite topics. I love drawing eyes are they are the most expressive part of the fact and they have been dubbed as the “windows into one’s soul”.

Black Blade Fanart

Black Blade Fanart

This drawing was done over a decade ago. In fact, I am not sure if I got the name of the manga right since a different manga and anime with the same name came up when I did a google. :(

Nonetheless, it was about a brooding detective who handles difficult cases. I was doing my school attachement in a local shipping compay back then.

Greetings

I met my first love when I was just 4.

That’s right, my love affair with drawing started when I was a toddler. I remember being fascinated by shapes and sizes and this fuelled my desire to capture them on pieces of scrap papers.

Although my older sibling shared the same fascination with me, his love affair was rather star-crossed – since he chose to proclaim his love through permanent markers on – of all the places – living room and bedroom walls.
Nonetheless, I never forget my first love, and frequently sneaks in for a quick visit in between classes and sometimes, during lectures. Since I was a studious student, the teachers were kind and did not penalise me for such seemingly impertinent habit.

Unlike my counterparts who have the privilege of  receiving formal training in drawing schools, all I had was my trusty 2B pencil and a couple of used papers. In a way, I am a self-taught artist since I have never received any forms of training.
As I grew older, I found my way to local libraries and bookstores to ransack for art books to fuel my addiction in emulating pretty drawings. And somehow, I stumbled upon the fascinating world of Manga, graphic designs, traditional and digital painting.
Much later, I joined an online community of like-minded enthusiastics and somehow the nick - diva - was stuck.
Nonetheless, this blog is to meant showcase the drawings which I have done over a span of over 10 years.

Last but not least, thanks for dropping by this humble blog.

Enjoy your stay…:)
